What is sand rotary dryer?
The sand rotary dryer is a dryer that can handle a large amount of materials. Due to its reliable operation, great operating flexibility, strong adaptability, and large processing capacity, it is widely used in the building materials, metallurgy, food, chemical, coal, pharmaceutical and mining industries. Sand rotary dryers are generally suitable for granular materials, and can also be used to dry sticky paste materials or materials with high moisture content by partially mixing the materials. Especially dryer sand, the tumble dryer has excellent drying effect. The advantages of the sand rotary dryer are large production capacity, wide application range, small flow resistance, large allowable fluctuation range in operation, and easy operation. Commonly used for drying sand, mineral powder, cinder, etc.

How sand rotary dryer works?
The sand is sent to the hopper by a belt conveyor or bucket elevator, and then enters the feeding end through the feeding pipe through the feeding machine of the hopper. The inclination of the feeding pipe should be greater than the natural inclination of the materials so that the materials can flow into the sand dryer smoothly. The dryer cylinder is a rotating cylinder, which is slightly inclined with the horizontal line. Materials are fed in through the higher end, and heat carrier enters through the lower end, and contacts with materials in counter-flow. Sometimes heat carrier and materials flow into the cylinder together. As the cylinder rotates, the materials move to the lower end due to gravity. When the wet materials move forward in the barrel, they receive the heat from the heat carrier directly or indirectly, and the wet materials dry. Then, the wet materials are sent out through the discharge end through a belt conveyor or screw conveyor.

Issues that should be paid attention to in daily use and maintenance of sand rotary dryers:
  1. Dry material conveying equipment should pay attention to sealing.
  2. Control of initial moisture content. The moisture content of wet quartz sand is generally around 45%. Drying immediately at this time will increase the production cost and put greater pressure on the equipment. Stack it in a well-ventilated place for about 15 days to reduce the moisture content to about 20% before processing.
  3. Selection of dust collector. Because fly ash has fine particles and light density, it is easily carried away by the airflow under negative pressure after drying, resulting in changes in the fluid medium and the dust-containing gas has a large moisture content. The dust collector should be selected based on the above process status.
  4. Selection of hot blast stove. The hot blast stove should be of high efficiency, capable of fully burning low-quality coal, and easy to operate.
